RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT - REGIONAL UNIVERSITY KNOWLEDGE CENTER FOR VEHICLE INDUSTRY

Regional University Knowledge Center for Vehicle Industry

The Regional University Knowledge Center for Vehicle Industry was established in January 2006, in cooperation with Széchenyi István University, Rába Futómű Kft. (Axle Business Unit Ltd.), and two other companies. The objective of the founders was to create an automotive scientific and technological innovation center relying partially on support provided by the state. In the framework of the agreement, Rába Futómű Kft., took part in the development of pre-production technologies as well as in ‘The Development of Up-to-date Vehicle Constructions’ project. In the first year of the three-year scheme, 27 new products, services and technologies were developed.

For Rába, the most important achievements are:

  • improved quality and improved productivity in the production of forged products
  • on the basis of research results, serial production of single forged axle bodies started
  • the axle prototype of an improved design tractor was also developed, and
  • noise levels in axles and the entire vehicles were also reduced.
